Did this. Some quick facts. The swap is NOT plug and play. The '05 you will have to cut off each socket (leave enough wire to splice for the next guy) and ship with the bulbs. The '06 you can just unplug the harness and ship all as a complete lamp. BOTH parties will have to cut wires and 'hard wire' together. They do NOT share the same harness.

Also, after packing, bubbles and p-nuts then shipping, $107 next AM or $67 next afternoon (remember you both will not have tails during the swap) it is by no means free. Also, the mounting of the '05 lights to the '06 is rock solid. The '06 to the '05 will take some clear silicon to set the leading edge (that's the edge with the snap in mount) or they will rattle!

I have photos posted in the "wanted-o6 trunk badge" thread of my car after the conversion!

Are you sure of this? ...I just swapped mine out and they went straight in. Mine were 04's though, I didn't think there was a change of 04-05. Everything works on mine, just did it last night and tested turn signals, brake, and reverse lights. All work fine, doesn't rattle.

Plus I have my 06 tails for sale if anyone wants to buy them.

It's plug and play as far as I know for 06 owners. I put them in last night and know first hand.

so i just swapped my taillights. it was easy, took 30 min to unbolt mine, unplug mine, unbolt his, unblot his, plug his into mine, test all functions, bolt mine, bolt his, check each others cars out. say it looks good and it was done.

The difference must have been we have wagons. His (the '06 unplugs at the tail lights), mine (the '05 unplugs inside the trunk area). It was NOT plug and play... but it also was not that big of deal. Just had to sort out what wire was what ('cause the colors were different between the two years as well).

Glad it worked out for them :-)
