WTB: Windshield for an 04 WRX

WTB *WINDSHIELD*

Smells like something I'd have to get from (hopefully not installed by) a dealer but thought I'd ask here first. Live in San Jose, work in Fremont.

just go to any windshield shop or even better call mobile installer, I got my windshield installed at my place for $150 and it took the tech less than an hour.

Le Auto Glass - East Oakland - Oakland, CA If you don't mind driving to Oakland.. I took my Integra a few years back. Amazing work and the reviews speak for themselves. Good luck.

Le Auto does great work and they're quick. I've been going to them since I found out about them. Place looks ghetto though.

since you live in san jose go to the pick and pull off commercial and drive to the far right after you enter.
its called low price auto glass.
i got my windshield replaced there not long ago and it was only 150ish and it was fast and i was happy with the work.

I think that's the first thing that popped up when I CL'd "WRX windshield." If they're comparable to this Le's place I might do that.

Forum won't let me directly upload from my phone, so when I get home I'll post the damage. I hit a curb pretty straight on, approx. 15-20 MPH, popped my tire and my steering wheel is now offset by about 30 degrees. Strut tower bar probably didn't help me here.

Lemme reiterate what's been said elsewhere, Tein S-Tech springs are bloody awful, and its my own damn fault for no taking them out sooner (last owner put em in). I highly doubt I'd have had a fraction of the impact had I stock springs in as I've been meaning to do.

Some photography to allow for a survey of the carnage...

I got a Groupon this morning for Auto Glass Fixers San Jose. They quoted me at $285 (w/-$100 coupon) for a defrost equiped windshield (it's a non-issue for the most part in the bay so I don't know if I have one, and car's away in the shop right now too), and $185 (w/coupon) for a regular one. Le's said $190/$160 respectively, so think I'll go with that, even with AGF offering free mobile installation.

I guess a good follow up question is with the price so low compared to the others, and a that just a $10 dif in price between defrost and non, assuming I don't already have a setup for a defroster, how hard would it be to retrofit? As said it's usually a non-issue where I live, but if it's not too hard why not, and I will be driving to Tahoe for xmas.

When I got my windshield installed by Low Price Auto Glass in Dublin they used factory grade glass & brand new seals so everything worked just as well as when the car was new from factory.

Assuming the one in San Jose is the same company I would expect similar results.
