WTB: turbo-downpipe gasket (SJ locations?)

Hey guys,

I need a turbo to downpipe gasket and was wondering where I could get ones other than the dealer because I want one that is better and possibly thicker that the OEM one. I have a 2004 wrx. Would also be willing to snag one off somebody as well, that's why I put this in the classifieds.

Thanks

one that is thicker and better than oem? The dealership only had the oem one. Isn't there better ones?

I used the oem ones before.. no issues. They are just layered sheets of metal.. and i didn't have any leaks.

if you want a thicker gasket you may need to order one. Grimmspeed makes one. and i know RallysportDirect (an i-club vendor) carries that girmmspeed one. you could probably get it in a couple days

OEM is good that's why Grimmspeed copied the OEMdesign for its gaskets. Unless your downpipe isn't flat or something an OEM gasket is good

sweet, I figured I'd go thicker just as extra piece of mind, but since nobody seems to have any problems with the oem, I'll just get that haha thanks everyone for chiming in

You just want a thicker gasket right, given your turbo and dp are stock? Can someone here fill me in about the difference between oem gaskets and thicker aftermarket ones on a stock setup?but anyways, yeah man just save your time and pay a visit to your local Subaru dealer like everyone said. I had to replace my turbo>dp gasket last year and I believe it costs about 30 bucks. good luck!
