Question WTB: Subie...~$4-5K. whatcha' got?

Hey all.
been on a multi-year hiatus since I sold my Subie.
My daily commuter (Accord) was crushed by a tree a week ago and I've decided to get back into a Subaru.

Looking for 5-speed in the following (order of pref - No Green...sorry):
  1. Forester S - no tan interior and prefer solid color with sunroof. This is #1 choice!
  2. Legacy Wagon/OB - Also no tan interior...don't really like the 2000~2006(?) model style but will consider.
  3. Impreza Wagon/OBS - had one prior. would like an upgrade, but the right one might turn me.

also post anything you might have otherwise...prefer wagons, but if you happen to have a Honda Fit or something good on gas, i'll take a look too.

Ins is supposed to have me a check by beginning of next week and I'll need to move quick to get out of the rental they've got me in, because they don't cover any more than next week.
Supposed to get ~$4000, so hoping to stay close to that...can probably dip into the savings for another grand for something nicer if it's worth it.
thnks!
pls eml direct dbl_a11 [at] yahoo

Good luck. You can get a lot of car for that price range if you don't want a turbo. I've been looking lately too... but more like $2000.

There's a super clean fozzi on nasioc for about that but it's a rebuild and it's an auto. The auto killed it for me. I refuse to drive an auto 4 banger with an auto tranny.

yeah, 5-speed Foresters have proven to be a hard find. esp since i'm looking for an S...and even more rare on the Premiums w/ the sunroof. stinker is, i can't stand the tan interior, or the green color, so it cuts out about 65-75% of the ones i've seen.

maybe I shouldn't be so picky. :/
