WTB: smog test

Hello. It's finally time to get my first smog test on my 06 wrx. But i have a catted CNT downpipe and a Apexi catback exhaust at stage 2 right now. But i'm not sure if it'l pass the smog test so I was wondering if anyone can help me out finding a place to get a free/cheap pretest and if I pass that, I will go ahead and get a normal test. I know some downpipes pass and if mine will pass, I'd prefer not to work on my car. I've called a couple places but they are charging me 40-50 for a pretest and about the same for a normal test after. I just want to see if i can find a better deal. Thank You.

Op-even tho its catted dp i dont think it would pass at least in california. Here it wont even pass with a hfc. Even magnaflow hfc are 49 state legal with the exception being california

Uhm.... want to buy? You don't buy smog checks...... On the other hand just put your stock downpipe in and smog it. I wouldn't name off.places.either.

From past experience just take the time and put a stock dp on. Just my 2 cents. Will have trouble passing smog even if you have a catted aftermarket dp. Kept producing faulty results with my cobb catted when i tried. Some shops will be cool about giving you a visual pass as long as you blow clean. Good Luck

If it is not a CARB stamped part then it is an automatic fail on visual. If the shop lets you pass a visual I don't see why a catted downpipe would cause issues.
