WTB: Skidplate for 06 sti
Wanted to see if anyone had anything available before hitting up Paul @Primitive. Anybody have or can make a skid plate I can buy off of them? Thanks!
I'd recommend going for a rallitek. Had a primitive for outback xt 06 from and rear.
Rear Plate - never fit couldn't get one that did. Something to do with the diff they use in the automatic supposedly anyways gave up on them sending one that fit.
Front Plate - Honestly one of the worst products I've owned. Truly Idiotic design that allows for so much dirt and mud and grime to get in there just driving on the street it's disgusting and likely detrimental. If you want to off road this is even stupider as it just collects mud in the engine bay and other areas that even the stock plastic piece would cover. Well finally threw it in the trash because nobody contemplated the weight of the skidplate vs. the strength of the front subframe mounts holes it uses. So of course it ripped those out. Literally threw it in the trash after a lot of heartache and irritation over 2 years or so (it was all ****ed up and ripped out long before that time), got a rallitek a design someone actually used their brain on.

^ who made the first front skid plate that you had all the issues with?
Just figured out that this "Had a primitive for outback xt 06 from and rear. " meant Primitive FRONT and rear

thats strange i've done a lot of research on skid plates and i only heard good things about primitive. Not sure if i really need one. I just want to get muddy and have some fun in tahoe also in open lots and hit up prairie city. I raised my car up 1.5in last nights thanks to norcalbmxer4u. thinking about getting a rally light bar but now sure if that would be useful either. I want to try out rally x.
but yea. i heard primitive was legit??

The pics look very similar:

According to the instructions, it sounds like it still uses the front 3 bolt holes on the u-brace, and 2 bolt holes at the jack plate

Pulled the undertray off today to put my stock exhaust back on for smog.
Also because I forgot the first time, I weighed it this time. Its only 7.4lbs
pics of it now

here you can see the rubber washers that are between the tray and the car itself
and here is the slight bend i put in it so it curves under the bumper to help deflect crap haha

all and all its held up just fine
