i have a v1 v1.7 if your interested, pretty much the same as 1.8 but doesn't tell you what band of radar it's detecting.

In terms of false alarms in the city, then yes. But the V1 detects radar from a further distance and also has the awesome arrows to tell you where the reading is coming from.

I would personally get the V1, ive had mine for about a year and made numerous trips back and fourth from socal, works better than described lol and they sell for $400 direct from v1 website
