WTB R160 Rear Diff
Lower the miles the better. The front bearing in mine is shot and is starting to rattle like crazy.
Oh man I just went through this. Best one I found was in Seattle w/ 86k miles and it was nice and clean but I still have some decel gear noise in 3rd and 4th. At this point I am just going to deal with it until I can think about a JDM V7 6spd and an R180.

I have a low mileage R160 from an 03 wrx (less than 25k I think?).... only thing is I pulled the vlsd out and popped that in my rs diff.

So it only has the case & bearings w/ ring & pinion gears as well as all the bolts to reassemble it.
You can have it for dirt cheap since its incomplete, could be a good time for a LSD upgrade

Pinion bearing - same as mine. Sounds like a rock crusher on decel in higher RPM and loud whine under hard acceleration. Take the back seat out and hear it scream.
Looks like some good sources in here though! I had a WTB on here and searched yards for a long time to come up with mine w/ 86k miles from someone doing a 6spd swap.

Unless you're droping in harder/different ratio'd gears and/or an LSD upgrade, it's not really worth the while to rebuild. You'd need another donor diff anyway too.
My "problem" which prompted asking the rebuild/replace question was fixed by a fluid swap, but I presume Hide's done that as is.

I asked this myself a while back, and the consensus was to just get a new, low mileage one.
