from waht i read on nasioc, it seems that the terminals are reverse in position, i could be wrong though

The costco ones are not like that, they have the terminals on the other side and it doesn't work with the WRX w/o modding the cables
Yellow tops are not out yet with the reversed cables.
Can you revive a dead one? I have one that sat in my Celica for about 6 mos and then wouldn't charge after driving around for 40 min or so. A friend said if you throw a charger on it for a couple days it will come back but I have no idea. If you want it, it's yours. Not sure if it's worth it. But otherwise I would go to Costco, that's where I have gotten mine.

generally speaking...yes. Optima batteries and all batteries of the type or designed to be capable or running dead and recharging. I think it's like 40 times for the red top. But after 6 months....who knows.
