let me ask a few of you - if I keep the stock DP as is with CAT, and get a catless uppie, delete the third cat (by way of straight pipe) and put on an STi axel back....would this give me good HP/TQ gains, good rumble and....

do I still need a tune or no?

thanks for your help!!

like I said, I'm a cheap bastard....and besides, my daughter comes first

OK, then I'll need to look into possibly getting a DP as well. Will I need a tune with or without a DP? I know tune's are recommended for later models but I didnt know if it was necessary for 02's.

tunes are not needed on the 02-03! u can run turboback without a tune unlike the newer cars! now if you want the power gains that the uppipe and downpipe give you then you will want a tune. hope that helps...

btw im running a turboback setup with stock uppipe and no tune and i have no problems...runs just as strong and i have an 03

Dave

Yeah the most power gains and the best bang for your buck ($ to Horsepower ratio) would be a cheap used downpipe.
