Note this is for my car....I'll try to explain the situation since I'm not sure Krinkov really understood what I was saying.

IF they are 02-03 tophats, either STI or WRX ones will work.

IF they are 04+ tophats, they need to be STI tophats (since that is what I am effectively out right now, would be replacing)...

Deal is I HAD 02 STI tophats. Krinkov owed me a set of stock 02-03 WRX tophats from a deal a few months back. I needed those tophats to return to a friend who they are owed to.

The coilovers (that had the 02 STI tophats) were out of the car, and the friend who the original tophats from Krinkov (02 WRX) were owed to ran into a situation where he had to have the tophats to get back on the road (actually had a coilover BREAK IN HALF on him ).

So, to get him back on the road I took off my 02 STI tophats and lent them to him. Meaning I am back on my stock struts right now, and can't put my coilovers back on because I am out my set of STI tophats.

So, 02-03 WRX or STI tophats, or 04+ STI only makes my coilovers back into what they had before (STI tophats).

If you would help me put my stock springs back on, you can have my rear 02/03 tophats that I have on my 04. I still have my stock 04 tophats so I would just need to bring enverything over to your place and we could bang it out in a couple hours if you are free this weekend?

 

i have a pair of tophats that i can sell if front and rear are interchangeable. I think one of the studs on my rear ones broke but the front ones are fine. Let me know if you're interested.

 

if you want to sell the other rear top hat seperately, i will take it. i have a rear that snapped a bolt also. but of course first dibs to the OP.

Yeah, I can do that on Saturday evening. Alternate would be Mon night after work (Sunday is taken up).

You will need to rent a Mcpherson strut spring compressor. You can do that either at Autozone for free (you put down a ~$100ish deposit, but get it ALL back when you return the tool) or at Kragen's for approx $7/day.

 

Not interchangable.
