WTB: 2005 sti

Wish this was for me, but a buddy of mine is looking to get a 2005 sti...only 05 sti as he doesn't like 0607/08+ styling and no 04 becuase of 5x100

Lmk what you got and ill forward it to my friend

As far as I know, no color preference, lower miles preferred, light mods ok

Thanks
Brian

Tell your buddy to be patient! It took me over a year to find a bone stock 06 with low miles but it pays off!

05 FTMFW! lol. I have one with 54k miles and bone stock with AP stage 1. I'll beat Hype's offer and let mine go for $50k. Seriously though.... It take quite some time to find and it gets harder the older they get. GL!

Haha damn this sucks that 05s are getting rare now...craigslist is all 04 or 07 it seems...

Its even worse because if I were to sell my 04 wrx, id want an 05 sti...guess I'm just going to make my car into an 05 sti haha

Yeah it took me like 9 months to find the right car but it was definitely worth the wait.

I think '06 is the best year though

I originally wanted an 05 also but found my 04 used with only 22k miles and had to jump on it. IMO 04-06 are the best STi's. 2011 Sedan is sick too.

Talked to him a bit more and he is wanting to build a "monster" so now we are considering higher milage sti's or one needing work since it'll most likely be redone completely

You really shouldn't be concerned with 04's just because of the 5x100 bolt pattern. I've seen some pretty crazy setups on 04's with no drivetrane issues. My last wrx was a TR, I swapped a 04 6mt and full 5x100 drivetrane in it. I was making 333/325 whp/tq and it never had any issues. I mean buy what you want, but the 04's are great too.

Correct me if I'm wrong but arnt the 04 STi's the best built? They are very robust cars. I like the 05's because of the rear fender arches and interior, other than that I don't care abou the 5x114 pattern because id keep th BBS's on. Lol.
