Like the title says I am looking for a 240 with the following;

5-speed
<130,000 miles
a KA24DE engine, I do not want to buy your failed SR or RB motor swaps
>1991
Clean title
No painted interiors/stickers/porcelin figurines on the dash
The fewer modifications, the better
My price range is anywhere from $1000 to $7000 (If it's worth it)

I was also considering an early 90's NA Supra, but I have to find out if parts are more expensive for those??

Thanks,

James

would you consider an e30 bmw (1989 325iS) with a couple issues (parts to fix the major ones included) @ the very low end of your asking price range?

similar weight to a 240sx (~2800lb), but has a 170hp inline six factory-installed. blows a KA24DE out of the water (i would know, i owned a '95 S14 and a '91 S13 coupe directly before this car). upgrades so far are urethane engine/tranny mounts and a limited-slip diff with a shorter final-drive than stock (3.91 vs stock 3.73- this thing scoots, but still turns acceptable RPMs on the freeway).

PM me if so. have a few uninstalled (brand-new) suspension/driveline/aero upgrades you could pick up as well...

No thanks on the BMW, I am borrowing an E36 right now from my mom, and had to have a few wheel bearings replaced along with an oil change which put the bill above a grand. It drives beautifully, but Bavaria's finest offerings are not what I am after.

The parts you mentioned, are they parts for the BMW or Nissan?

ugh, good god, whether you wanna buy it or not- please do not let e36 build quality speak for all of BMW's cars. we "krauters" call those the "dark ages" and are only interested in the m50/m52/s50 engines for swap purposes.

FWIW i've had this car just over 2 years and have spent less than $500 in non-elective maintenance in that time, parts and labor inclusive.

parts are for the e30, sorry to have gotten your hopes up- should have stated that more clearly. most of them are selling off to fellow e30 board members pretty quickly anyway (i'm a mod @ http://www.e30tech.com/ ).

well if you change your mind, i'd be happy to take you out for a spin and hot-foot it a bit to show you what it can do. $1500 and it's yours.

First off I don't have very much money to spend, and the turbo's go for a bit more. Second I'm looking for a less complicated platform (more complicated=more things that can go wrong=$$ I don't have ) Having a fast car isn't a priority right now, having a reliable fun car is.

Thanks, I would appreciate that. I live in San Jose, but have no problem driving down to Monterey. I even started looking in Los Angeles and Portland (through craigslist) but no low mileage 240's there either

LoL, my friend and I just sold our 240SXs...

One of my friend has a very clean S13 for sale but $13K. I don't know if you'd want this:

Fully built stroked and sleeved 2.1 liter SR20DET with a Garret GT turbo upgrade, HKS F-Con Vpro, fuel system etc. Brand spanking new motor built by Motorsports Dynamics - still in engine break in process (<600 miles). Est. 350-400 RWHP once tuned. I can get details if interested.
