Exclamation WTB: 1 Kumho Ecsta ASX tire URGENT!

long story short, earlier tonight i coming home from a meet. as i was driving locally, i ran over this pipe cutout of some short and it blew my front passenger side tire. i cant go anywhere now because my spare wont fit because i have upgraded my brakes.

so if anyone has an extra Ecsta ASX tire in stock, with tire size 205/55ZR16, with like new tread (because my tires are only about 4 months old) i would buy it from you. or if anyone knows any shop close to san jose, area code 95112 that has them in stock and do not need to special order them, please let me know.

i am going to try americas tire tomorrow, but they might have to special order them since they did last time.

and yea..... stupid me for not seeing the piece stick out of the road in the first place...... . any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks guys!

there is a shop in down town on San Carlos called Kumho Tires Only. i think every Korean person i know goes here for their tires. That's the rubber i wanted to get but they didn't have em in stock and i needed them urgent b/c i was going to Tahoe. Im pretty sure they should have it in stock.

I have a set of kumho asx's in your size but they're pretty dead. dunno if you'd want them. center tread is okay, but outer and inner tread is pretty worn. I actually have all 4 mounted on rims if you needed anything like that.

my kumhos only have about 4k on them so far, so tread is still pretty new. sucks that this happened to almost new tires. but thanks for the reply man, i think im going to try and just get 1 new one.

so i called several places and none of them have it in stock, it looks like it might take a couple days for them to ship it. most likely next week because the damn weekend is approaching. whys it soo hard to find such a common tire???

oh yea, wheel works said that they didnt have it, but said they were able to grab it the same day if i wanted it installed. how the hell does that work?? also, they said they do price matching, so i told them the price on tirerack, and they said they would have to add 20 on top of that. HOW THE HELL IS THAT PRICE MATCHING????? so it'll be 130 or so, for ONE ASX. jesus wtf.

bahhhh sucks that i cant go anywhere.

oh yea, almost forgot to mention. so i got about 4k on the tires. america's tire said that they can get a new one for me, but they will prorate depending on the tread wear. so how does that work? has anyone done this before and could give me a brief estimate of how much it will cost?? they guy said they couldnt estimate on milege, only on tread wear. so i have no idea on the place of the pricing. if its cheaper, id go for that instead. can anyone help me out with that?

I had this offered to me once when i was changing one tire. I had about 1k miles until one of the tires got punctured on the sidewall and started leaking. when you say prorate, i think the shop is willing to shave a bit off the NEW tire's tread so it matches ur other 3 that now has 4k miles ( vital because of our all wheel drive cars); from what i hear, only competent shops should be trusted with this (aka NOT wheelworks). Usually doesnt cost much, id expect another 15% of whatever your NEW tire's cost. If they seem like a good shop, I'd go ahead and let them do it. hope i understood you right and gluck.
