as the title says, im looking for an OE catback or axle back exhaust off an 08-13 wrx/sti. (i havent kept up on the newer models. the model that went dual tip). Im going to start a project with my bugeye and was thinking about incorporating a dual tip exhaust on my 03. i know its been done, and ive seen some good and some....not so good DIYs. I want to take the time and do it right. Theres more to the project. Im going to give an electronic cut out a try. This is where its a bit nice to have dual. I will be placing cutout valve at rear (where mid pipe splits into two) The "Y" at the end of the OE system is essentially the same setup as the aftermarket cut out kits that come with the dump pipe. With my setup, one side will be my original setup and the other side will be as if there was no muffler. So ill have "dummy mufflers"

What I will need for this project:

08-13 catback or axle back- Cheap
02-03 rear diffuser- Cheap
cut out kit-not so cheap
positive insight
helping hands if they like (mainly for fabbing, cutting, mapping, beer drinking, etc.)

ya. well thats what i meant. the same thing. i wanna do quad tip for sure. but i need the dual tip first (to have the Y split in the rear)

 

I have just the mufflers off of a 2012 STI that you can have. No mid pipe however.

 

so just axle back?

 

Ya, I'm using the midpipe with my Perrin axleback. You can have the STI axleback for free if you want it.
