British Banger, thanks for the info. That's actually my backup plan. It's just that the lightweight one can't sustain any impact so a heavy OEM would make feel more comfortable. I'm converting my '96 LX to an update RS look so I'm not looking for performance upgrade (i.e. lightweight beam).

But if I can't get an OEM one soon, I'll just have to go with the lightweight one.

If anyone can find or source one for me locally, I'll pay you $20 finders fee.

I would be down to buy a lightweight one, and sell ya my stocker. Or, since it's cheaper than what you offer, buy it and help me swap it. I'll buy the beer. I like the lightweight idea, and I don't plan on crashing - so I would be cool with that. Mine is an '01 Coupe.

What about others crashing into you? And c'mon, do any of us PLAN on crashing?

"La dee da, I think I'll wrap my nice shiny auto around a telephone pole today!"

Feel free to go lightweight, I may do it myself if I swap to an RS bumper, but I'd at least realize the danger I'd be putting myself in.

Thanks - I think I might just go lightweight!

Know what's crazy - sometimes, I walk down the street!!! When I do that, I don't have any bumpers at all!!! Oh noes!!!!!

Do you walk down the middle of the freeway?

I'm not trying to be the safety police- it's your life- I just thought your 'i don't plan on crashing' comment was naive at best.

wombatsauce, the lightweight beam is around $60 for parts & $30+ shipping for total slightly over $90 on subaruparts.com. I can pay for that. After you put the lightweight on you can just give me your stock one.

If you are interested, please give me a call tomorrow (Sat) so we can discuss the details. My cell # is 510-703-5510. Thanks.

Howard

That would work fine. Do you know anywhere that has tips on how to remove the bumper cover? I'll give you a buzz.
