Wheels/All Season Tires/Cables Rental

Hi all.

I just recently picked up a set of wheels and all season tires that I am willing to rent out to people for their trip up to the snow. Just trying to make a few bucks to pay these guys off.

They are Yokohoma All Season tires (205/55/16) on the stock 16" wheels. I also have cables for them. FYI, you must carry some type of traction device if you plan to go up to the snow. Chances are, you probably won't use them... but the law is the law.

Anyways, I am looking to rent these out + a deposit. Thinking about $200 deposit. Wheels and tires are in Davis, right off I-80... on your way to Tahoe from the bay.

Let me know if you guys are interested.

-Kevin

P.S. I also do a board waxing service. Drop me a PM for more info!

you don't need cables if you have 4 wheel drive and all seasons... I'm fairly certain about this...

Legally you're obligated to carry them when chain controls are in effect, regardless of the vehicle. A quick google search found this (http://www.chp.ca.gov/html/answers.html:

I have a 4-wheel drive vehicle. Do I have to carry / use chains? What do the "R" ratings which are associated with chain requirements mean?
"R" ratings on snowy roads indicate chain requirements for various conditions. Some vehicles may not be required to use chains under all conditions, but all vehicles must carry chains. Most vehicles come equipped with snow tires. Look for M+S (mud and snow), All Season, or All Terrain, on the side of the tire.

R-1 chains required except for vehicles with snow tires (chains required for any vehicle pulling a trailer)

R-2 chains required except for 4-wheel drive with snow tires

R-3 chains required for all vehicles

We only need chains when it is R3... which has never happened in my whole life on the way to tahoe... I'm not saying it's never happened though just never when I went up or anyone else i know.

Also another rule would be when you're trailing anything you're required to have chains regardless if you have 4wd.

^^ agreed. Haven't ever had to use chains/cables in a 4wd but just saying they could legally stop you if you don't have them with you. In any case, they usually close the freeway before conditions get so bad that they'd require chains on a 4wd. But It doesn't hurt to have a cheap set of cables from walmart in the back just incase.

Yup. But you still got to carry them! And you can never have too much grip.

I've lived in the mountains for 9 years now. I've had one set of chains...they aren't even the right size...in fact, I don't even put them in my car.

That looks like a worn-to-the-wear-bars tire that has been studded. Do I see correctly?

Not interested in selling them. Actually need them to go up to the snow. Just want to rent them out to help pay them off.
