To register ur car in CA all you need is to smog it. If it pass smog hand the paper work to the DMV then fill out the paper work to register your car. You are done after that. they don't inspect your car.

you have to go through a visual inspection as well as the smog sniffer test.

form what i understand it is a visual test done at the dmv by an inspector or you have to have a motor officer sign off on it. if all i had to do was smog it i would be on the road right now. anyone know how to "pass" the visual inspection the way i would like to pass it?

yeah, i thought the shop that does the smog sniffer test also had to check that the original parts were there if not the replacement parts had a smog certificate. there are alot of smog shops that you can pay alot and you can skip all the sniffer and visual and pass you.

my set up will definitely have to pay off some smog shop. hopefully i'll find one no problem. its a good thing my suby's not a daily driver.......

i can get a smog cert any day of the week, it's the visual inspection that is grrrr.
