Resale value is gonna suck. I would say stay away from it. Wait until the end of the year sales with high inventories and then buy one. At least it'll be new and have a clean title.

$25.5 seems like a lot but that's about $10,000 less than the going price for a non salvaged title so it seems right.

and if someone is looking for a track/rally car... where warranty isn't an issue... then it's probably ok.

The 25K includes $1000 to ship it here from the east coast plus I padded it a bit to cover fees from the yard...

I don't see '08+ STi's selling for very little yet. There are a few on the dealer network right now that are clean title but not in as good condition as this one.

There's this one in NV... with 27K miles.

it's got bald tires, stereo is missing, scratches and dings all over, broken motor mount, dead battery, chips in the windshield, altered suspension and some "mechanical other"... bidding starts at $23,300 and will likely go up to $27000. All in all it needs a lot of reconditioning to make it a nice car... but hey, it's got a clean title.

couldn't the red car, with the right ammount of paper work and crossing of state lines, eventually have a "clean" title?

I'm pretty sure they've gotten that under control. Although I'm sure someone out there will know how.

However, by now, the dealerships all know the history so it will never be truly clean.

This would be an ideal car to export.
