actually there might be a difference in the model years. I heard from a well known subaru mechanic (hint: he's in Redwood City) that the 02 models may have had shorter downpipes than the 03 and later models. When I was getting my helix dp installed, there was a half inch of gap between it and the turbo. I asked why it didn't fit properly and he said that Helix decided to make a single dp that would fit both models by making the length somewhere in the middle.

Now I don't know about the 3 inch gap (could possibly be made for jdm subies) but that's my story on the Helix dp

Well yeah thats what my buddy said...kinda...he said he "guessed his mid pipe was longer" i dont know guys its all a bit weird.
