Stock intake

Looking to see if I can borrow or buy someone's stock intake and airbox. Need it ASAP to pass smog check (visual inspection) by the end of the month. I passed in 2011 with my Buschur CAI, but this time around, same place and same technician, didn't let me fly today. LMK! Thanks

Isn't smog now just visual no sniffer?

Unless they changed the rules recently, I believe it's still both. Then again, I guess it depends on where you go too!

Could have sworn starting January 1 2013 the law was suppose to change for 2000+ cars it was suppose to be obII scanner and visual only.

OHH!!!! I just looked it up on google...you're right. As of 1/1/2013, the tailpipe portion of the smog check is no longer required for year 2000+ vehicles. Thanks for the heads up!

Negative on the CARB sticker for my CAI. Got it for free as a hand-me-down part from one of my buddies a while back. While the tech was talking to me, he seemed more concerned with my intake more than anything else, as that might have been the ONLY thing that kept me from passing. In the end, I wasn't charged and was invited back for a re-test once I correct this. Also, thanks for the heads up on the new law in effect. I've done SOME reading, but not all.

i'm local (Sunnyvale) and have my 06 STI air box. How long would you be "borrowing" it for and what kind of collateral would you leave with me? I have been ripped off in the past when loaning out stock parts and the intake box/setup is something i am not trying to loose and replace. There is a smog shop by me too and the guy is Subaru friendly and a good price. PM me if you are interested in using it.
