Product details:
Shur Grip Z is designed to meet the traction product needs of the average driver and is available to fit most passenger cars. Shur Grip Z features easiest and quickest installation of any traction product, and includes rubber tighteners. IIRC, by law, you must have snow chains handy when driving in snow (even if you are AWD with snow tires) I run cables on my blizzaks on the super super icy roads. I dont run them for more than 300 miles at a times as chains and cables kill the tread on the snow tires.I RARELY run chains (cables actually). my blizzaks and AWD get the job done 95% of the time

which reminds me, im due for another set of chains. LOL. OP, i may be interested!

sorry for late respond,

Yep, i did got it for my wrx. Tires were not in good shape that i felt safe enough to drive up without extra protection; wasn't willing to take a risk on a rental car (why, I got an AWD baby), nor willing take a damages on the car if i had bad luck. I was in the jam, did what i had to do. Turnout it wasn't too bad, so never even open the box. Now, got another SUV to drive in mt, so there someone can use that protection. Think of it, its a nice to have regardless of type of car if you enjoy snow sports, and look like this is a gonna be a great season !

I do the same thing! Blizzaks do the job for me 99% of the time. I have to cable up to get up the private road to my cabin. It gets super icy for some reason and the blizzaks cant hang for all of 60'.

Yeah... cables are all good on the wrx. And they are a legal must have if you're driving up there on the regular. It's only a matter of time before you're asked to show that you have them in your car... better to have them than be turned around.... not that I carry mine on the regular. LOL!

But I did need them once. If I didn't buy a set already I'd snag these.

So yeah... anyone that is questioning the cables deal doesn't go to the snow regularly.

Its all good. It's one of those deal that, 'Wish i don't need it. But when I do, I'll be so happy to have it". There's nothing like riding fresh powder from passing storm, that fresh tracks are so good.

Thanks for the bumps, folks

by law u need them but can they stop u and ask u to show it? what if u just say u have em in the trunk but they cant search ur vehicle?

i only go a few times every season but never been asked or stopped for it so dont carry them around.

They will typically close the road before it gets to r-3 conditions (requiring chains/cables with snow tires and 4WD.

I carry a set in the trunk even though I run snow tires on my tahoe trips.
