Selling my 2004 WRB WRX STi
Hello fellow I-Clubbers...its time for me to part with my babied STi...here are the details: *Copy and pasted from my CL ad*
Own a rally legend! Up for sale is my babied World Rally Blue (WRB) 2004 Subaru STi. Perfect timing for the season that is here (AWD goodness). This is the rawest form of the STi because this was the first year they brought it over to the US. I recently inherited a C6 Corvette so I have to put my baby up for sale. I don’t want to sell it but now I have to. Car is primarily stock minus what the previous owner has done (deck/navigation system and that’s about it). I ALWAYS warm up the car before I drive and also let the car run before I turn it off. Here is the spec sheet:
Info: 2004
Make: Subaru
Model: WRX Impreza STi
Miles: 121,XXX
Title: Clean and on hand
Engine: Turbo flat four (stock)
Transmission: 6 speed
Rims: Stock SILVER BBS
Mod list:
-Koyorad All Aluminum Race Radiator
-Flapatrax Mud flaps
-Color matched rear spats (the double sided tape is slightly coming off but it’s a easy fix)
-Cobb Accessport V1 (I have it and it’s married to it but I never used it)
-Eclipse CD/Radio/Navigation system
-Kart Boy shifter bushings
-Slotted rotors and Stoptech brake pads
-Exedy clutch (replaced at 95K)
-STi Limited-style lip
-Stock Subaru boost gauge on steering column
-Double din arm rest/storage
Previous owner replaced the cabin air filter at 90K. During the 90K service, water pump and timing belt were changed and all the fluids were flushed and replaced (including the diff fluid). Oil changes were done at Capitol Subaru. Last major service was done at 95K.
Exterior: 8/10- minor scratches and door dings from regular wear and tear (I park FAR away from people and I hand wash this car. Like I said, I babied the car)
Interior: 8/10- Very clean, few spots on the passenger seat done by the previous owner.
The Cons:
-Rear suspension rattles due to a design flaw in the stock suspension. I had it checked out by two shops and they confirmed it was the top hat on the suspension. Car drives fine, it just rattles/knocks when you’re driving. People usually buy aftermarket coilovers to replace them (that was my plan but as you can see, I am selling the car).
-I got into a minor incident last year with some kid (not my fault) and the rear, passenger side bumper got dinged. I got it repaired (same stock rear bumper) at a shop that works on Subaru dealership cars (Anderson Behel in Santa Clara; look at their Yelp) and they fixed it 100% (color match was perfect).
Asking price is $19,500 obo. ABSOLUTELY NO LOW BALLERS and NO JOY RIDES. Valid driver’s license and cash in hand or we can go to your credit union (that’s what I did and just got done with).
PRICE FOR I-CLUBBERS IS $18K OBO
I'm hoping thats a good price for ya'll....and dont fret! I will be looking forward on buying a '05 Wagon in the future. Just not right now. All in all, my dad passed away and gave me his C6 Corvette and I have a beater Accord to drive. My STi sits in the garage because I dont want to add miles to it. The DMV just sent me the letter for the registration so if you buy it, either I can take care of it for you or you can (however that works)
Text me since my phone is always on and I'm almost always working.

Bump....anyone at all?
Edit: Looks like the new updated miles would be 122K now. Taking the car to work tomorrow. Not trusting my Accord in this type of weather (and the Accord has crappy windshield wipers)

I looked it up and it seems that not all 02's had a cabin filter but from what i recall mine did. Also my 04 STI definitely has one I replaced it not too long ago haha.

Thanks all. I'm thinking about lowering the price again. Any offers from anyone? I'm not in a rush to sell it...I just dislike seeing it in the garage not being driven.
Edit: I have a lot of pictures on my phone. I still havent loaded all the pictures I took with my DSLR but I do use my Droid quite a lot ahaha

So KBB is showing an approximate range of $12-14k for an STi with your spec. NADA also places it between $11-14k. I know these are only guides, but what's your reasoning for asking $3-5k over?

Whoa...that's the thing with KBB...I checked in intervals with weeks and it ranged from 18k...to 16ish range...and now I guess what you're telling me. I guess it changes that quick.

Than again, with many makes/models KBB or NADA means squat because real world economics dictate a different price (i.e. $500 '90s Civics selling for $3-5k
).Anyhow, GLSW!
