Ohlin's Fixed Perch Struts 2004 STi/2002-2007 WRX Sedan $1,500
SOLD!
i'll be removing my beloved Ohlin's Fixed perch struts from my wagon in the next few weeks and am wondering if anyone is interested in buying them. They are fine, no leaks, but when I purchased them it was suggested to rebuild after 30k miles. i'm at that point and ready to get something different.
fitment
These will technically fit on a wagon but with crap for camber adjustment.
These are amazing struts. the ride quality is wonderful and you wouldn't regret getting these. Paired with the right spring (higher lb/kg than stock) this will ride like a set of Ohlin's coil overs but for your daily driver.
The car is much more planted and much more predictable with these struts, even with ****ty camber.
The only reason i'm getting rid of these is that after moving back to the hills and commuting over twisties i'm going through tires far faster than I can afford. :crys:
i'm consider having the shop I purchased these from ( PSI ) rebuild them if it's not too expensive at which point they will be equivalent to brand new.
Assuming the rebuild is not hugely expensive i'll let these go for $1,500 or $700 without rebuild.
if you send me a low ball offer then come over so I can punch you in the nuts.
if you don't have the cash don't bother asking because i'm not going to give some stranger a deal

Bump for an awesome set of struts. I have em too... love em... sad to see a Ohlins brother go.
These are for sure a "pay for what you get" strut. Very worth it.

how much camber can you get out of yours and have you done any of the crazier conversion like sedan lateral links/arms and axles?

I put 2nd camber bolts in the front, rear didn't need anything. One side could only get -1.0 camber, other side easily got -1.5.
I switched to com-c (removing the 2nd camber bolts), and then I could only get -0.8. I was pissed because I was already at the alignment shop and car was on the rack and didn't have the bolts with me. Other wise, the com-c's are great.
I will have to go back and put the camber bolts back in on one side. I found H&R Triple C camber bolts are different in design that the SPC camber bolts. Most importantly, they have a thicker shaft on the threaded portion which allows for a higher torque spec (much closer to the stock bolt torque spec). This is possible with similar adjustability because the threaded portion is outside the strut clevis, instead of inside like the SPC bolts.
Us wagon guys are camber cursed. I dunno why strut manufacturers didn't build in more neg camber by just drilling the cleavis holes to wagon spec.

I've been rallyx on these struts and they kick ***. They are strong, and when set correctly, they really control the chassis well. For sedan owners, these struts are the ones to covet.
