Non-Subie content: modded 91 Miata for sale

Thought a few people on here might appreciate a reasonably well-prepared Miata. Full details and pics can be found here: http://sfbay.craigslist.org/eby/cto/1596305390.html

Car is located in Oakland, CA

1991 Mazda Miata for sale. I've had it for about 3-4 years and taken great care of it. I planned on making this my track car, but I could never step away from my other car despite the money and mods I put into the Miata. It has seen one track day since I've owned it. I bought it with 131,000 miles, and I've since put about 40k mostly freeway miles on it. Timing belt and water pump changed at 150k just to be safe. This car has been nothing but reliable and it's never left me stranded.

I'm asking $3500 obo, but I'm willing to deal if you don't want some of the parts (wheels, hardtop, front lip). Also willing to give a CR.net discount. Full rundown on the car can be found below and here's a link to my CL ad for pics: http://sfbay.craigslist.org/eby/cto/1596305390.html. Thanks for your time

Body:
- Hardtop, great shape, no defroster. Soft-top has been taken out of the car and I no longer have it, sorry
- Rattle-canned green with black hardtop and windshield surround. When I bought the car it had flaking white paint like many early, white Miatas. It needed a paint job and I decided to go this route. I primered and rattle-can painted it, but there's no overspray and I think it looks decent (much better than before at least)
- No major dents
- Garage Vary replica lip, brand new, just got it for christmas
- Vented quarter window, driver's side
- Cracked windshield, but it's only on the passenger side and I never got it changed out because it never bothered me

Engine:
- 171,xxx miles
- Timing belt, water pump and radiator changed out at 150,xxx miles
- K&N drop-in filter
- Non-wobbly crank. I've checked it and apparently this is a late 1991 car, so it has the correct crankshaft
- Oil changed every 5k with Mobil 1 systhetic
- Runs smooth, no issues

Suspension and bracing:
- R-package Bilsteins combined with eBay springs and coilover sleeves (450/350 lbs). This is a stiff setup, but it's perfect for track or autocross. You can also change out the springs pretty cheaply by contacting Ground Control
- Autopower 4-point rollbar, painted white
- Racing Beat lower front tie bar
- eBay strut tower bar
- No-name lower rear tie bar

Wheels
- Car currently has stock 14 wheels (not the daisies, they're the cool 5-spokes) with old Michelin tires
- I also have a set of XXR 513s (15x8, 0 offset) that are black and I've painted the polished lip red. Tires are Lexanis, size 195/50/15. Will include for the asking amount
- Finally, I have a set of unknown brand 13-inch wheels with R-compound tires. Never mounted on the car, need longer studs. Will include for the asking amount

Brakes:
- Slotted front rotors
- Porterfield pads
- ATE Super Blue fluid

Interior:
- No rips or stains on the seats
- No cracks in the dash
- No radio (stolen), but the wiring and speakers are still there
- Cracked radio bezel, although it's still installed and looks decent
- AC needs to be recharged

Miscellaneous
- Hella e-code headlights. Much better output
- DRL driving lamps hidden behind the front turn signal lenses. Turn signals relocated to the outer edges
- Trumpet horn from a Saab. Gets people's attention

As noted on Club Roadster, price drop to $3k for everything, including the extra sets of wheels

Damn...this is really temping...especially since my Miata is now gone due to a van driving asshat that was not paying attention to the road...

Will it need to be smogged?

hey just an FYI, the link to clubroadster.net asks for username and p/w. I'm sure most interested parties don't want to sign up just to check out the car.

It passed last year, and since it's my responsibility as the seller to provide a smog certificate, I will handle a smog test for any interested party. I don't have any doubts that it will pass.

Don't know you but this is AWESOME. I buy/sell too many cars (I have AutoADD) and sellers NEVER smog their cars. I actually have the DMV page stating this printed out usually with me but I always, every time, have to smog cars at least twice (once when I buy it, once when I sell it).

Awesome. Also a great deal and a pretty sweet package for someone who really wants to get some track time!!

Thanks man. I'm always amazed the look some people give when you ask them to smog a car you're looking to buy. Appreciate the bump
