They just failed me for smog because of an aftermarket blow off valve. I have a free retest at the place but need to put the stocker on and go back. Anyone have the stock blow off valve setup they can sell me quick or let me borrow?

So just a question, why do the fail because of an aftermarket BOV? Will the fail it because of a aftermarket Intercooler too?

 

They said they are cracking down on guys messing with anything that involves vacumn lines. It doesnt help that the bov is bright chrome & blue under the hood. It stands out, but came with the car so I left it on. The guy said go swap it to the stock one and come back and he will pass me. I would think as long as the intercooler looks stockish you would be fine. I bet I could of brought the car to some hole in the wall spot and would of been ok, but since they will resmog no charge Im going back.

 

got one from an 06/07 STI but lacks the vent elbow...just in case UR desperate enough

 

intercooler is "legal" per Smog Ref, but an aftermarket Boost gauge is illegal as are radiator hoses.. Go figure..

 

any venting of crank case gas to the air is illegal iirc
