Just do the Ikea Flaps and get a buddies Rally armor Trace then cut. for $8 you got a good set of mudflaps.

This is for 08+ but gives you an idea if you havent seen them

the ikea flaps are the shiz. mine have been complimented several times, and when I tell them they are the ikea ones, people are like... "wha????"

did the whole thing for about $18 i think. that included, all the hardward (from home depot), the cutting boards for the mudflaps

From 3gwrx.com (http://www.3gwrx.com/forum/index.php/topic,7221.0.html)

Since the other thread is 4 pages long and the info is kind of spread out everywhere I thought I'd post a quick list of what I bought in order to make my own IKEA mudflaps.

Quantity: 2 - IKEA cutting boards (comes in pack of 2)
Cost: $1.99 per pack

Quantity: 10 - 1/4" x 1 1/4" Hex Bolts (20 tpi)
Cost: $0.11 per bolt

Quantity: 10 - 1/4" x 1 1/4" Fender Washer
Cost: $0.18 per washer

Quantity: 10 - 1/4" Speed Nut Clips (20 tpi)
Cost: $0.92

Quantity: 2 - Nylon Spacers 1/2" x .375 x 5/8" (comes in pack of 2)
Cost: $0.92

Estimated total cost: $16.50

Below are a few cell phone pix I took today at Lowes to help you find the clips noted above. Please note Home Depot did not have the clips, but they did have the bolts and washers.

Find the Hardware Aisle and look for the drawers of bolts/fittings, it will look like this (at Lowes):

Open the drawer labeled J7 and keep your fingers crossed they have enough clips, in my case, I cleaned them out (the $0.92 ones):

This next pic shows all of the pieces needed to build your own mud flaps (only showing two baggies of the clips):

These next pictures show the nylon spacers you can use to give the flaps some breathing room between them and the car:

I borrowed this pic from 08subiewrx, this shows the cut out mudflaps before drilling the holes:

Here is the final outcome...

Inside of the front, you can see I cut off about 1/2 of the width inside the wheel well, otherwise it would flap/smack fender liner.

Inside of the rear, the third mounting hole cannot be seen in this shot.

I will post pix of my templates this weekend. Hopefully a few of you guys can benefit from this. Thanks to eminehart for all of the great info in the other thread, and thanks to monkiboy for the template!
And the template (further down the thread)

they lined up, but the length on mine didnt extend that much further down than the body line, it only extended about 2" past it. maybe i cut the rear curve part too low for the rear? meaning that the flap would sit way too high up if i was to use the drill method to attach the third bolt/screw inside the wheel well.

here is the templates i used...

These are a good starting point as far as dimensions go. I ended making mine a little bit bigger. I have 15"x7.5" on the front and 15"x12" in the rear. Also, for mine instead of doing the curved cut, I just cut straight across from the two edges on the front and I skipped that cut for the rears.

This is how mine ended up. I used clear vinyl from Tap Plastics.

If you want all the mudflaps to be the same color you need 4 packs now. They changed it up and put a opaque black one with a gray semi-translucent one. I got 4 just in case i screwed up, but found that I need 4 just to make it match.
