I've always seen it just wrapped in bubble wrap and brown paper. I think UPS will do that for a few bucks.

Yeah, but I'd rather not do that.. Thats just cheap trashy to me, I know its a "used: exhaust and everything but I wanna ship it in a box. The risk of dings and dents on the tip is higher when you don't put it in a box. I planned on stuffing the box with as much bubblewrap as possible.

Edit: Would it be cheaper to do that than get a box? The guy just gave me the okay to do that.

It is DEFINITELY cheaper without the box. (I was told so by the guy who works at the UPS counter, so you know he knows everything there ever was to know about shipping anything ever)

I recommend that you put a box around the muffler/tip and package them well with lots of bubble wrap and peanuts, the rest of the pipe will be fine with just bubble wrap and brown paper. This might not be the cheapest way though.

Thanks for the info! What do you think would be the cheapest way?

the box mine was in was huge though and weighed a lot plus it was going to FL. it was over size there was nothing i could do to lower the price:/

i think generally for bigger items ups is cheaper than usps plus im not sure if usps will except something without a box
