Howdy I-club, looking to replace my current up pipe as its fitment is just crap and as a result i believe some of the noise/boost issues im experiencing are due to a leak near the flex joint(no name crap.. kicking myself for being cheap) while installing my borla headers this past weekend..
Anyway preferably any respectable aftermarket brand, catless ofc and w/ a flex joint. I would probably take a decent condition sti up pipe if nothing else comes up, GD 02-07, looking to address it sooner than later. Thanks for reading.

I installed my Borla UEL header last night and had to remove the downpipe a second time in order to get the lower flange to mate up properly with the header collector.
How to ensure best trouble-free and leak free up-pipe installation.
Recommended: New metal or Remflex gaskets. You can reuse the OEM Subaru metal gaskets. Use high-temp anti-seize on bolts, studs, nuts.
When installing the up-pipe, do not tighten down (leave them very loose) the turbo flange nuts and the top up-pipe mounting bracket nuts until you mount the lower up-pipe flange bolts and nuts to the mounted header collector. Then tighten (torque) the 3 turbo flange nuts, then finally the 2 top flange nuts on the up-pipe bracket.
