hi i'm new but i need help! (a christmas gift for my boyfriend)

hi
not an owner of a subaru and i'm not here to sell anything i just need HELP! from you fellow subaru owners

my boyfriend used to own a 2002 (or 2003, i can't remember) subaru wrx wagon. a few months ago, some idiot t-boned him while he was crossing an intersection and the damage cost more to repair so he just ended up buying a new car. we still miss that car so much but i figure since he might not be able to get the car back, i could get him a little replica of one.

his old car:

and the replica should look something along the lines of this..
http://www.modelautokampioen.nl/uplo...1160817642.jpg

but in silver. i've been looking around ebay, amazon, autoart and some other places but i can't find the right one. i'm looking for a 1:18 or slightly bigger.

if any leads, please help! it's a christmas gift and i know he'd LOVE it if i can find a good one and this car meant so much to me as well! i think it'd be awesome if i could find a little "maverick" (his name)

thank you!!!

The wheels are going to be flat out impossible (or cost a pretty penny) to find on a replica. Those are aftermarket. The rest of it can be done if you can find a replica with fog lights... You can put an overlay over the fog lights to make them yellow and paint the body Silver.

Here you go! AutoArt to the rescue!
I think you can paint the wheels but I dont know what to do about the foglights.
But I think this is as close as you will get.

If you took that model down to a Hobby shop with a picture of his old car I bet you could get pretty close.

I'm afraid I can't help you find what you're looking for, but perhaps you can help me? Did his engine survive? Where is the car now? I fried the engine in my '03 wagon yesterday and I'm starting to look for a replacement. I'm in UC too.

Good luck with your search!

@VRT MBasile - what kind of paint do you think i would need?

@Imprezard - thank you! i've seen the stuff on autoart but their models are really tiny...

@bumblebee03 - i think his engine survived, i'm not sure if he still has it though. i think he kept most of his parts though... i'll try to figure out a way i can ask him!

Your best bet would be the Subaru touch up paint, but the applicator isn't great for larger area. A second option would be any kind of metallic Silver.

If you can find some with metallic flake that should work. Just of course make sure to mask off the widows and whatnot

you could order the OEM spray can from online and spray it your self to have the exact color if you can get the Paint Code from someone with that silver. i think its like Platinum Silver Metallic or something.

Found it- http://www.brandsport.com/sub-j3610ss000.html

AutoArt has 1/18 scale models as well as their 1/24 and 1/48 line. The 1/18 models are about 10" long and are SUPER detailed. Real carpet, etc. I have a few of the 1/18 AutoArt Subarus and they are awesome. But if you can find them, you are looking at about $100 -$200 per model depending on the seller. The bugeyes have been sold out for a long time.
