As Alan said, the PSI3 is an indash system that takes the place of multiple gauges. The unit I have can display 16 engine parameters in 4 different pages, read fault codes, reset the ECU, record peak boost, peak coolant temp, peak rpm, and peak speed. It has alarms for high coolant, low battery, and high boost. The various engine data it can display include: boost, RPM, road speed, coolant temp, A/F ratio, injector duration, knock correction, timing advance, throttle position, intake temp, and a couple mmore I can't remember right now. It simply plugs into the OBDII port - the simplest installation you can think of! It can be upgraded as PSI3 adds more features by replacing the chip. The in dash systems are going for upwards of $550.

does that psi3 have the ability to say....be plugged into a screen?
I will be running a MattJk in my car and an alpine deck so I have no place to stick this thing that the display would be visable. I was thinking I could build a box for it. Stick it under the seat and plug it into the mattjk while the ps2 isn't plugged in.
Hmmmm.....very interesting....I'll check the website to see what it has to say. probably should have checked before i wrote this. But I think backwards.

You can always mount it in the Subaru gauge/clock pod if that's an option for you. As far as an external screen, there are no video outputs so it would have to be a custom setup involving tearing the box apart and soldering.
