edit: A couple of things left...

I'm in the Bay Area quite a bit and can arrange to meet Bay Area folks who want to buy any of the parts. I'm usually in the South Bay and Peninsula.

You should buy new gaskets to insure a leak tight installation. I would suggest http://www.subaruparts.com for that. You'll need the uppipe to turbo, downpipe to turbo, uppipe to pass. manifold, and pass. manifold to crossover gaskets.

This is where I got mine from: http://www.spomotorsports.com/AddToC...tomerID=195135

It operates on the same concept as other cans but employs a baffled design to keep the oil from simply passing through the catch can and back to the intake. It filters both the crankcase and PCV lines and returns them to the intake, completing the existing loop.

The rear strut bar includes quick releases so you can remove the bar in 10 seconds to haul larger items in your wagon.

I was thinking of picking it up at the BBQ but it looks as though it is illegal in Autocross for me so I don't want to have to take it on and off.

You can all dibs on it if you like.

Mike you can take me off the pending sale for Scoop!

later,

Steve, you can email Whiteline and ask them. I know they have separate links for WRX sedan and wagon, even thought they are both adjustable. Your L probably has the same track width as the wagon did.

You'd need to check the track widths, or part numbers at Whiteline to make sure. All of their stuff looks the same, but they have two different part numbers for WRX wagons and sedans; the GC/GM might be another different model.

Edit : doh, beat by mike! Who is up this early, honestly?!

damn it. I was gonna get the rear bar and the avo.

Any way you can fill me in on how you did the quick release set up. I'd like to do something similar and if I remember correctly they come with allen keys to seperate them.

The rear strut bar comes with an allen on one side and a nut on the other. A member on nasioc made the quick releases for me. There are two threads on there with pictures of what he made. Search for the threads and shoot the guy a PM. They are basically bicycle quick releases that he cut down and remachined.

The catch can is still available and comes with your choice of red or blue hose. I may still be able to get some black also.

you think there is much of a benefit for a stock car for the catch can.

I might be interested in it. Black hoses prefered but red would probably fly too.

I will talk to my dealership..see if it effects my warranty. Don't see why it would...but you never know. If it's all good I'd be down for it. Is is polished like the one in the picture? I saw one that was all red. I'd prefer clean...low profile.

It IS the one in the picture. Polished and I'll give you enough hose to mount the can wherever you want. I had mine in front of the battery and then when I took my cruise control out of the WRX I put the can where the module was on the pass strut side.

The idea behind the can is to trap oil before it gets back into the intake tract. Next time you pull off your intercooler hold it 90 degrees and see if any oil comes out. Or check the inside of your IC hoses. If you have oil in there, a catch can will prevent that. My car was still basically stock when I put the can on and it got rid of the oil in the hoses.

Food for thought.
