I would personally stay away from the SPT exhaust. It actually has pretty much the same back pressure and flow as the stock exhaust for emissions reasons...That's why dealers can sell it and honor warranties with it...It just looks shiny and opens up the exhaust note a little bit more.

I had one for a while as a dealer installed option when I bought my car and thought I was good in that department when I started modding...only to find out it was crap come tuning time and comparing it to other exhaust that I had after it...

oh, btw.... this exhaust has a 2.5" collector, so i mounts up to the stock midpipe!

Than you might as well than go back to stock IMHO...that's was just my suggestion. Because the SPT will flow the same as stock (aka give you no noticeable power gains) and exhaust note is really not that much louder...But you will still get pulled over cause you will have a shiny 3 inch tubing under your car. That was my personal experience with the exhaust...but it all depends on your plans. Good luck!

Really?!?! Does he have a tune? I had mine only with an SPT intake and a downpipe, but I know a tune make a HUGE difference to the idle/at speed noise...also I just have a regular WRX and I know the exhaust headers are pretty restrictive compared to the STi ones, so that might have been my thing as well...

Plus I am going off what GST told me; that exhaust does not flow well because of how it is designed...I personally trust them, but I know where you are coming from as well. I have heard the same exhaust on different people's car and had complete difference of preference...
