Since the replacement plan was essentially them crediting me money then repurchasing the new xbox I'd imagine that exchanging it for a PS3 would be fine. Same value afterall.

I called bestbuy and they will not allow a return for store credit (to buy a ps3).
they let you do it with all of their replacement plans except video game consoles apparently.
