i see a crack on it too, on the upper portion of the flapper opening in the first closeup

Almost, if not ALL VF-39s have the wastegate crack. However, many people consiously know about it and still buy them as if nothing is wrong with them. AFAIK, it doesn't hurt performance in any way, and IMHO there's nothing wrong with it. It's just a defect that came with the STi turbo.

yeah, thats what i have heard...i just dont really like to sell stuff in not great condition...gettin lowballed now. since it works perfectly fine, i will take 300 FIRM. if not i keep it incase i go back to stock or i can talk the fiance into a wrx.

I disagree. $300-$400 is the average price for a used, non-cracked vf39. Yes, it will work fine...but why pay the same amount for a cracked one?

Bump for a good guy.

There should be no problem with these "cracked" turbos. If these are running on sti's with no ill affects then there should be no problem with them on other cars.
