Nice setup! Do you have any idea if this would fit a '98 RS? I have a couple different bumpers but was planning to use JDM V4 STi.
Also, due to the change in placement of the MAF this would most certainly need a tune to drive safely, correct? Would it be "pointless" on a 2003 EJ20 with a VF39?

Yeah you need a tune for both the larger MAF piping diameter and the blowthrough (air being metered out by the MAF post turbo rather than pre turbo)
I'm prettttty sure this will fit. If there's one place it wouldn't, it would be the bumper beam attachment, but I don't have that and I'm actually running this without the replacement beam and just attached it on the bottom to the subframe mounting points. Other than that, the question is whether or not the piping will fit. which, esp if you swapped in an '03 ej20, probably will.

Well I don't know if there would be zero gains, but strictly talking dyno-power wise, I mean if you look at AMS they have 500whp STi setups on an aftermarket TMIC. No need to cut up the front bumper and incur additional lag and weight with the FMIC.
The real gain for you since you track your cars IIRC, is you'd get the better cooling and less heat soak with an FMIC.

Good luck with your sale!

My wrx was rear ended, and I picked up an sti that's pretty much already got the perfect street setup, so I don't really have any use for these parts (I'd rather have the responsiveness of an FP Green than an extra 30whp from a gt35r, for example)
