FS: SF Bay O.Z. Crono Evolution wheels 17x7, +48
SOLD
Priced accordingly, $160 for the set.
Pics posted in my replies.
For sale in SF Bay Area (Eastbay), set of four 17" x 7" O.Z. Crono Evolution (5 x 100mm bolt pattern, 48mm offset, discontinued design).
History: Old school classic 5-spoke made in Italy, I'm the 2nd or 3rd owner. Had them on my car from about 2008 to 2016, and they have been sitting in the garage since then. They were originally silver, but I had them powder coated black back when i first got them (this was before I knew about Plasti Dip). I ended up Plasti Dipping them army green for a few years, which I have pics of.
The good: no curb rash or accidents, straight and true. Lightweight (~17 lbs.), see below for a description I got from an old website. Includes faux carbon fiber center caps.
The bad: The powder coat job was done a long time ago and the outer layer is starting to peel, mostly on the inner barrel of the wheels and not the face of the wheel. The good part is the next layer is black also so it's not that noticeable. see pics for example but recommend checking them out in person. Missing a few valve cap stem cover that any tire shop or autoparts store can provide. These are really old school and discontinued by O.Z.
Great winter, track or backup wheels. They're fine to run as is as a daily driver or track car, but I would probably sand down the top coat and Plastic Dip or paint them any color you want. Cleaned and ready to go. Wiling to meet in SF Eastbay as far south as Hayward, north up to Berkeley and anywhere in between. Thanks.

OZ Chrono Evolution Wheels
Built specifically to minimize the weight while maintaining strength, the Crono Evolution's multispoke design borrowed heavily from what OZ's engineers learned in the development of the OZ Rally and Touring car wheels.
Applying this experience has resulted in an exceptionally lightweight and robust aluminum street wheel. The Crono Evolution utilizes a proprietary titanium enriched alloy for superior strength, at its remarkably low weight. The production process was revised to not only incorporate heat treatment, but also a special shot peening technology borrowed from the aerospace industry. All this research and work has paid off handsomely with an alloy street wheel that tips the scales at a scant 7.5 kg in 17", and 8.2 kg in 18.
