FS: Olympus E-500 DSLR
Hey everyone, I'm selling my second camera. I was originally going to use this as a back up camera, but I really don't need it, so I'm going to sell it.
Here are the specifications:
Olympus Evolt E-500
8 Mega Pixels
ISO up to 1600 (With ISO Boost), up to 500 without.
Min Shutter: 60 Second Shutter w/out Flash, 8 Minutes w/ Bulb Flash
Max Shutter: 1/4000 Sec
Infrared (for Remote - must purchase seperately)
RAW/TIFF/JPEG Capability
All original parts come with camera: camera body cap, camera body, charger, battery, usb cable, video cable, camera strap, eye cup, view finder cover. Original Box & Documents come with this one, registration card not filled out and never registered. Also comes with 3 manuals (English, French, Spanish), Olympus Master Editing Software (never opened, never registered).
Specific features to this camera not found on other DSLR's:
Four Thirds System: allows for more light to lens (yes, this is the short short short version, you can read more about it here: http://www.four-thirds.org/en/index.html)
Patented Dust Reduction System uses Supersonic Wave Filter or SSWF (You won't have to get your DSLR cleaned, it's pretty much a self cleaning system. The advantage here is that you will more than likely never have to take this iin to be dusted for the lifetime of the camera - which can be costly and sometimes ineffective if not done properly).
Large 2.5" Screen for reviewing photos - it's very bright and very clear.
25 Shooting Modes (The camera comes with a cool scene mode feature).
Dual Media Slots: Will accept XD cards (smaller than SD) and CF1 and CF2 (Compact Flash 1 & 2)
This camera is GREAT for amateur photographers and skilled pros. You don't need to be an expert to use this camera, it does have a panic mode, I mean, auto mode.
For just the body of this camera, I'm asking 550. Remember, this is my backup camera, I have barely used it, so it's pretty much brand new. The body is $599 on Pricegrabber with free shipping and tax free in some places.
If you want, I can include the 14-45mm kit lens, but this will not come with a box. Asking $600 for Body & 14-45mm lens. The lens will come with lens to body cap, lens cap, and lens hood. New for kit lens & body = $675 after shipping off of pricegrabber. MSRP for the body is $699, MSRP w/ 14-45mm lens is $799.
This is a great buy for anyone that wants a very powerful camera and wants to get into photography, or for professionals as well.
Please no low ballers, I think my prices are very reasonable as they stand. I will also include an extra battery, aside from the one that already comes WITH the camera.
If no one buys this I will put it up on Ebay
I'm in no hurry to sell.

I know someone wants a comparison between this and the popular Canon 350D, so here it is. Virtually identical in manual mode.
