I so want the seats but don't want to give up the side impact because I live in 'merikuh where people drink their big gulps and txt while running reds to assert their individual rights.

I hear you on that. I really want to put the seats in my wife's bugeye, but she just want's me to sell them. And with them not having airbags I'd rather she have a safer car, than a more comfortable cool seat. But I had V7&8 STi seats in my bugeye back in the day. Loved them.
