FS: JDM 2006 EJ255 Legacy Turbo Longblock
I have an EJ255 for sale from a Japanese 2006 Legacy Turbo Wagon. I bought this about a year ago when I thought I was going to need to replace my motor. Never used it, so I'm hoping someone can give it a good home.
A bit dusty from sitting in my garage for a year but otherwise as received from Prodrive USA.
This is the same motor used in the USDM Forester XT, Baja Turbo and Legacy Turbo. As you can see it's the complete long block and even has most sensors installed.
I'd like to get $3000 picked up in Mountain View. I'd rather not ship this thing.
Will consider reasonable offers.

^ no really.... asking if it come with the turbo also, and if it was jdm it would be a 2.0 not 2.5 right?

As far as I know this motor was said to be imported from Japan. the block is stamped with "EJ25" not "EJ20".

I don't think the last part of your statement is entirely correct. Maybe for the Impreza platform, the JDM blocks are the EJ20's, but I wouldn't be surprised if the JDM Legacy or Forester platforms were on the EJ25's. I mean... it would make sense since both the Legacy and the Foresters are quite a bit larger than the Impreza's.

I just read that the jdm legacy gt and b come with a 273hp 2.0.... I'm not trying to bast just trying to figure it out lol

LIC motorsports ran the VIN for me a while back and it is exactly as I stated in the original post, a EJ255, 2.5L Turbo block from a Legacy Wagon in Japan. It is the same motor you get in a USDM forester XT or legacy turbo or baja turbo, an EJ255.
Japan has been getting 2.5L motors for years now guys. Get with the program.

Compression test requires a starter attached, I think a leak down doesn't even need that.
Anyway, any potential buyer who wants to have such a test done before paying for the motor is welcome to do so. I can accompany you to the shop and you can pay me once it passes.
