are those blitz exhausts legal? cas i got pulled over tonight for having one. according to vehicle code 27151. anyone know how i can fight this? if anyone has had similar experience please share. i would like to know thank u.

27151. (a) No person shall modify the exhaust system of a motor
vehicle in a manner which will amplify or increase the noise emitted
by the motor of the vehicle so that the vehicle is not in compliance
with the provisions of Section 27150 or exceeds the noise limits
established for the type of vehicle in Article 2.5 (commencing with
Section 27200). No person shall operate a motor vehicle with an
exhaust system so modified.
(b) For the purposes of exhaust systems installed on motor
vehicles with a manufacturer's gross vehicle weight rating of less
than 6,000 pounds, other than motorcycles, a sound level of 95 dbA or
less, when tested in accordance with Society of Automotive Engineers
Standard J1169 May 1998, complies with this section. Motor vehicle
exhaust systems or parts thereof include, but are not limited to,
nonoriginal exhaust equipment.

 

well at least they gave you the right ticket, they usually still write up the bogus emmisions ticket. But yes, over 95db is a ticket, your only recourse is if they gave you the ticket without acctually testing it(yes they now have db meters) if they gave you the noise ticket without testing and its not a fix it ticket I would fight it, if he did db you than your stuck

 

no he didnt db me but he had someone else with him saying that he teaches them about modifications on cars and whats legal and whats not legal. i asked for his name and badge number but the pig didnt give it to me. even if he dbs me im pretty sure it will pass. if it didnt pass wouldnt the smoggers tell me? maybe its not related but i thought i would ask. well im not sure if i should just leave it the way it is and just go to the popo station or CHP station or if i should change back to my stock and go clear then reinstall my blitz back on. any suggestions?
