Was there any rod knock on the block when you got it?

 

I cant tell you there was or there wasnt. i bought the shortblock already split. previous owner didnt mention anything of the sort. i can try and get a hold of him and let you know. I also got your PM, and going to answer part of it here for others: When i say B25 pistons and heads, i really just mean B25 pistons to mate with B25 heads. Yea, you can use D25 heads on this shortblock, but you will need to swap to D25 piston to compensate for different Compression rations IIRC.

 

Are the heat shields still on the downpipe?

Hmm this might be a good investment for bore/sleeve build although I wouldnt need all the guts. Ill let you know if its still around when Im back from my trip. Cant spare the expense right now.
