FS: Catless ERZ heatwrapped downpipe. $100 obo

****SOLD******

ERZ catless downpipe for '02-07 WRX and STI. Heat wrapped the full length. Has trans mount bracket and O2 sensor bung. I'll include the CEL fix for the O2 sensor if aren't running engine managament and need it. I've noticed that most aftermarket downpipes have a leak on the bottom (passenger side of car) edge of the flange that mates up with the turbo because of a gap where the gasket doesn't really seal very well so I've had it welded and machined flat to ensure a good seal.

For better heat retention within the downpipe = lower under hood temps. Meaning a little bit cooler intercooler. Also cuts down on the heat your inner cv boot on that side has to endure. Axle boots getting beat on with a lot of heat have the potential to dry, harden and crack sooner. Also, heat retention means the exhaust has less of a chance to cool down and condense inside the exhaust, ... so ..higher velocity.

Heat wrapping the manifolds, cross-pipe and up-pipe does the same thing. It helps maintain higher exhaust velocity and retains heat (which turbos like). Also cuts down on under-hood temps/oil temps because it isn't baking your oil pan. A lot can be said (and theorized and bs'd ) about heat retention but there's my 2 cents on it.
