Pretty certain not many offers will role in with out specs and probably pictures of the tv.

Nope, didn't know that. I do now. However, the post is still valid as there are 2 versions. The first generation was a 40GB HDD & the newer generation was a 160GB HDD. So specs are still needed.

how does this work exactly? im kinda interested in owning an apple set of techs hehe

you dont get actual tv channels?

The main reason I got this was to "patch" it and get more features out of it. See this article.

The one I have has been factory restored.

I used it to watch Hulu on my TV along with comedy central and the onion.
I used a USB drive and this code http://code.google.com/p/atvusb-creator/downloads/list to install Boxee. Very easy to do.
