Ever since I busted one of my cones with the screwdriver (n00b move, I know!), any idea if I can replace just the driver in my components? Meaning, use my existing crossovers and tweets with these Alpines?

suppose you COULD, but it wouldnt be pretty. the alpine mid would not keep up with a mid from a nice component set.
the passives would filter out the highs from the alpine coax, and theyre rated for 50-60rms or something. i guess it would be better than spending $200+ on another component set.

my set of "last years type-s" (SPS-17C2) arrived today. This is the 3rd time I have bought them, as I regrettably sold the first two sets. I can't sell these, because this particular set is getting really hard to find new now. These are my favorite coax off Alpine deck power, and a perfect match. I'm not even installing them, just putting them in storage.
The current model type-s (SPS-600) are suited to a bit more power.
