2011 wrx sedan w/ 39k miles on body and 22k miles on my built motor and doesn't burn oil at all. Car is pushing 390whp on a dynojet and 330whp on eqtuning's mustang calibration.

Have had this car since new and has been my project car for the past 4 years. Car was modded and built for the track and is an absolute beast on track. Have about $35k in parts and labor into it on top of what I paid for the car. I know I won't get my money back from the mods but someone has a chance to get a great deal.

Asking $22k firm. Don't really feel like going through the hassle of going back to stock.

Silly question, but is this car smog legal?

 

No but you don't need to smog it until 2017.

This car is a effing beauty and a killer price. GLWS

 

You have to smog to sell. Least that's how it used to be. Not 100% on new cars like this. But it's a good question.

 

Should be able to just get by without it. From the DMV website:

NOTE: Smog certifications are not required for transfers that occur for a gasoline powered motor vehicle that is four or less model years old. (Determine the oldest-qualifying year model by subtracting three from the current year) the four or less model years old rule does not apply to diesel powered vehicles. A smog transfer fee will be collected from the new owner

 

New cars do not need to be smogged for 6 years after purchase date. That includes transfer of ownership.

No the car will not need to be smogged.
