FS: 1983 VW Mk1 GTI
Picked this car up back in 2011 from a customer of mine, old retired guy that had a warehouse full of old VWs/Audis, this one had been stored since the late 90s and I was hoping to do more with it but I already have 2 other project cars and as a result Ive done hardly anything with it and its just been taking up space in my driveway.
The car is in really great shape, the only thing the old guy ever did to it was add Neuspeed springs and euro bumpers, other than that its been un-modded its whole life, probably one of the only un-molested Mk1 GTIs still left on the road, and the interior is still MINT, pretty easy to see this thing was stored since the 90s, probably one of the nicest surviving Mk1 GTI interior out there anywhere!

Things Ive added:
New brakes all around
New Kenwood headunit
old school momo wheel
replaced the old saggy euro bumpers with brand new ones
replaced cracked grill with new one
added that ugly goofy shifter
Brand new BBS RAs 15X7 with 155-50-15 Dunlop Direzzas
and when I say brand new I mean Brand New
Bought them off a guy that bought them in 1986 for his E30 and never ran them, sat in his garage in their boxes till I got them. I had the lips polished and installed gold letter BBS caps, has to be one of the nicest sets of RAs out there.

The Bad:(only a few)
1. I got the car right at 99k miles, as soon as it rolled over to 100k the odo went a bit haywire and all the numbers started half spinning and then got stuck, I replaced it with another Mk1 gauge cluster with a working odo but that killed the turn signals for some reason, so I'll prob just throw the old gauge cluster back in if I have time, otherwise you can just take it with the box of spares and DIY.
2. The body is totally straight and looks to have never been in an accident, but the paint is SHOT! its all pretty oxidized to dull white and while theres no big real rust issues anywhere, there are some spots where the paint was chipped/scratched where there is a bit but all spots that can easily and quickly be sanded down and treated. other than that just some normal door dings here and there, the biggest one being a golfball sized dent on the corner of the roof.
All in all the car is solid driver that runs great, passes smog like a champ, and really doesnt need much of anything, it was my daily for the first six month I had it while my corvette was getting a new motor and I'd trust it to drive across the country.
As it sits Im looking for $3000 without the BBS or $3500 with them.
Im also including a bunch of little extras I never got around to installing. All new ball joints, tie rods, and wheel bearings. Nothing that needs any reall attention, just nice to freshen those up though. I have an extra white hood, a spare grill, and a second mint condition back bench seat that you also get.
Also FS: 89 GLI 16V swap
This is the full swap we pulled out of a wrecked but strong running GLI, and I mean we got EVERYTHING. You'll get not only the full motor/trans/harness/ECU/fuel dist+airbox, but also the full front suspension/brakes, power steering rack and radiator.
also including a Scirocco Intake Manfold
Looking for $1000 for everything
Also have some uninstalled extras for sale.
Full Set of Koni Yellows,
brand new Eurosport 4-point Subframe Brace
brand new Eurosport Scirocco strut tower bar (to clear 16v swap)
Brand new full poly bushing set
Autotech F+R swaybar setsway bars
pretty firm on the prices for now, but If someone wants to get everything we can work out a package deal,

Jeremy, you have a pm, lemme see if I can help ya sell this sooner than later then.
*Your market price is actually about $2000 short of where it should be, but the market is fickle and I can see you pulling short in order to sell it quicker.
