PE 1820:
Power Enterprise PE 1820 Turbo
The PE 1820 Turbo is a high-performance turbo developed by Power Enterprise. This turbo uses IHI turbine & compressor housings and incorporates PE's custom twin-ball bearing center cartridge. This design allows the turbo to be capable of over 440+ HP (~360+whp). The PE1820 is well suited as a race turbo. This turbo features a P20 turbine housing which is larger than the PE1818's P18 turbine housing. Although the larger housing induces more lag than the PE1818, the true benefits of the PE1820 is the significantly increased power output levels at 21+ PSI range. This turbo is an excellent choice for customers who are seeking a high power turbo race turbo.
vf34:
The IHI VF-34 Turbo is found on the limited production Subaru v7 WRX STI-RA (GDB). This turbo is differentiated from the VF30 through it's more advanced bearing design. The bearing design allows for much quicker turbo spool-up (depending on tuning, 300-500+ RPMs over the VF30), while retaining the power capabilities of the VF30. The VF34 is capable of 350+ HP (~300+whp) This turbo is a direct bolt-on for all GC8, GDA, GDB EJ20 turbo engines. This is an excellent replacement turbo for those looking for substantial power gains while maintaining streetability
IMHO there is NO comparison!! If you want big power...PE will spank the vf34. I know because I have owned both....and am running a PE1820 now.
*PE1820 -$1475.
*PE1818 -$1475.
*vf22 - $599.
*vf34 - $699.
*vf30 - ??

you can search for PE turbos here, and NASIOC. I know there are some people selling them.
Dont get me wrong...vf34's are nice turbos too. Some guys are getting like 270 whp with those and sti injectors...with stock TMIC, (Zoeb). I say keep what you have and upgrade later. up to you though...it's all in what you want.

no problem. I am spending too much money porting and massaging the VF34. this is why I was thinking of getting the 1820. Talked to Deadbolt and he can put one together for me if I need to. So no problem. So right now I will not put dibs on this one.
By the way I am going to be installing it in an STi
Regards
