I hear Don's mobile glass isn't too bad either. They do the glass for the subaru dealership up here.

Holy crap. Was this an STi (i.e. thin) windshield? The STi glass is thinner than the WRX glass (and more $$$).
why would u want to pay so much for oem glass when u can get aftermarket for so much cheaper? There really isn't much of a difference. I paid roughly the same amount as Subadubaru for a replacement windshield. Had I paid for OEM, it would've cost me about $400.
Besides, why pay $800 when a small little rock one day hits your thin windshield glass replacement and makes a big crack. You'll be pissed.

Ya, good point. I don't mind aftermarket, I just want to keep the thin glass so I can maintain OEM weight. What is the actual weight difference? I've never actually looked it up!

I wouldn't worry about it not being OEM glass. In my experience, as soon as you get the new glass you'll take a rock to the windshield sometime in the next week or so
Just go with the cheapest you can find and be done with it (I've replaced at least 5 windshields in the last 7 or 8 years in various cars).

So yeah, just get some glass on there cuz it'll probably get fragged again.
secureway autoglass in downtown sf is the way to go man, tell him kevin b. told u to call he'll hook u up
and i think if your insurance covers cracked windshields, they can do it also
