I would like an old mailbox to make a camping stove out of. I would rather not buy a new one at home depot for $20 so if anyone has a rusty old one they don't want I will put it to good use.



Oooo or I may try a 20mm ammo can, they seem to turn out nice and will probably last longer than a mailbox.

 

I might be picking up a bigger one and doing a custom paint job on it for the new house. If so, you can have the one that's there now.

You trying to do this with a small one or a larger one?

I have 5 quarts of bbq paint if you want that too. Probably just need to take it in and have it shook up. Been sitting for a while.

 

What ever size is free! Just want it as a tent stove to go inside (kind of) a Whelen style lean to tent. As for the paint, I would rather spend $5 on a can of spray than deal with a quart!

I am also going to try to run a copper tube inside it hooked up to a side mounted water can to keep a couple gallons of warm (hot if I am lucky) water.

I kinda lost interest when my build partner (girlfriend) broke up with me. She came back so I guess we need to get on it.

 

I think my parents have an old mailbox laying around the garage. I changed their mailbox for them a couple months ago. I'm swinging by tomorrow to pick up some of my tools and I'll check to see if it's still in the garage. If I find it, you can have it if you don't mind swinging by my work in Millbrae to pick it up.
